McLaren Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine
 The McLaren Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Center is a
state-of-the-art facility that provides comprehensive services for patients
recovering from injury or surgery as well as for people focused on maintaining
health and wellness. Along with our highly trained staff of health care
professionals, we also offer leading edge technology, including the new
computer-based CYBEX Trazer system, CYBEX exercise stations, treadmills,
ellipticals, ARC trainers and more.
Physical Therapy
McLaren Physical Therapy Services provides an individualized evaluation,
treatment plan and education on a variety of neurological and musculoskeletal
injuries. Our Physical Therapists and Physical Therapy Assistants are
licensed and trained in specialized treatment approaches. These
experts work with you to improve your quality of life -- rebuilding strength,
function, mobility, endurance, while reducing pain and exercising under
professional supervision.
Our therapists also work closely with your doctor to provide a quality and
comprehensive continuum of care as you progress through your therapy.
Exercises are used to directly increase flexibility and
range-of-motion. Stretching and strengthening exercises using the affected
muscle may be the first steps. From there, a wide range of exercise equipment
can build endurance, strength, and range-of-motion. This includes weights and
pulleys, stationary exercise bikes, the advanced ARC treadmill or nu-step, or a
balance ball. Other modalities include ultrasound, electrical stimulation,
and hot or cold packs to help reduce pain and swelling and allow the achievement
of maximum benefit from each therapy session.
Our newest technology is the CYBEX Trazer. This powerful new computer-based
system dramatically improves muscle and mental agility while adding exciting new
dimensions of fun and function to exercise. CYBEX Trazer features an interactive
virtual system where reaction time, acceleration, speed, power and balance drive
on-screen activities. This unique exercise experience utilizes patented CYBEX
Trazer technologies to measure performance in a way that cannot be
duplicated.
Our physical therapy services are provided for patients of all ages. We can
also customize a home program designed especially for your needs. We also
offer an after therapy exercise program. In this program, patients who have
completed their physical therapy can continue to utilize our facilities for one
month free of charge and, thereafter, for a nominal fee.
